No, a Calgary install costs the same as one in Cochrane. There is no travel charge and no Calgary surcharge. Because we batch installs by neighbourhood and run them on scheduled days, the drive costs us one trip for a dozen houses rather than a dozen trips. Your price is worked out the same way it would be in Cochrane: how much roofline we are lighting, how high it is, and whether you want trees and features included.

The cost of Christmas light installation in Calgary depends on the linear footage of roofline, the height of the house, and how many trees, pillars and features you want lit. A single-storey bungalow in Silver Springs and a three-storey acreage home in Bearspaw are very different jobs. Every quote is fixed and written before we start, and it always includes the lights themselves, the design, the install, mid-season fixes, January takedown and off-season storage. A chinook will not pull your Christmas lights off the roof if they are fixed properly. Chinook winds are the main reason displays fail in Calgary, and almost always the fault is the fastener rather than the lights: staples through the strand, clips forced onto the wrong edge, or a run left slack enough to whip. We use purpose-made clips sized to the strand and fitted to shingles and eavestroughs, with the run tensioned so there is nothing for the wind to catch. Season-long maintenance is included, so if a section does come loose we come back and refit it at no charge.

Yes, we light tall two-storey and acreage homes in Bearspaw and Springbank, and it is a large part of what we do out there. Upper peaks, steep front gables and dormers are exactly the parts homeowners give up on, which is why so many acreage houses have a lit first storey and a dark top half. Bright West is the holiday lighting partner of Sure West Roofing, so the crew are roofers working from proper ladders with fall gear, and long approaches and gate posts can be lit as part of the same design.

Takedown starts in early January and runs through to early February, and it is already paid for in the install price. Christmas light removal and storage are both inside that price, so your strands come back to our shop in Cochrane, labelled by property and kept there at no extra charge. Nothing lives in your garage, nothing needs untangling, and because the strands were cut to your house the same set goes straight back up next November.

Book your Calgary install as early as you can, and you do not need to be home on the day. Booking opens in late summer, installs run from October through to early December, and the last two weekends of November are always the first dates gone. Booking early gets you first pick of dates and locks your price for the season. Everything is fitted from the outside, so there is no need to take time off or wait in. We agree the design and the fixed price beforehand, then install, set the timer, test the display and send you photos once it is lit.

We supply the lights, the cost is already in your quote, and if a strand fails mid-season we come back out and fix it at no extra charge. The strands are commercial-grade LED rated for Alberta winters, cut to fit your roofline rather than stretched or doubled up to reach the end of a run, which is why big-box retail strands are the usual reason a display is half dead by New Year. You can choose warm white or multicolour, and the automatic timer is supplied and set on install day. Season-long maintenance then covers a dead run, a tripped timer or a section knocked loose by a chinook, and because the strands are ours and were cut for your house we turn up with the right replacement rather than guessing.

Yes, commercial holiday lighting is part of the same Calgary service. Commercial installs for storefronts, car dealerships, office frontages and managed residential portfolios run through the same season as the houses. Installs are worked around your trading hours so nothing blocks a doorway or a lot, you get one point of contact across every site rather than a separate arrangement per building, and multiple addresses can be invoiced together. Takedown and storage are included the same way they are on a house.
