Takedown & Storage

Cochrane Christmas light removal, for the displays we install

If Bright West installed your lights, your Cochrane Christmas light removal is already covered and already on the schedule. We only take down displays we put up ourselves, and the reason is below.

If we installed your lights

Nothing to do, you are already on the route

Takedown is part of the install price, not an add-on we quote again in January. There is no second invoice, no booking form, and no need to phone us in the new year to remind us.

  • Removal already paid for inside your original fixed quote
  • Your property is scheduled before the January route starts
  • Strands coiled, labelled and stored at our shop for free
  • The same set goes back on the same roofline next November

If somebody else did

We only take down displays we install

Every installer uses different strands, clips and fixings, and our crew works fastest and most carefully on the system they put up themselves. So we do not take down lights hung by another company or put up yourself. If you would like next season done properly, we can quote a Bright West install, and January takedown comes with it.

  • Our own commercial-grade strands and clips, every time
  • Takedown and storage included in every install price
  • Measured and quoted now, ready for next November
  • No second invoice when January comes round

How It Works

How Cochrane Christmas light removal works

Three steps, and none of them need anything from you.

Step 01: You are already booked

There is nothing to arrange. Your property goes on the January route the day we install, and takedown is already inside your fixed written price.

Step 02: We take it down

Crews work from the outside on a scheduled January date. Clips come off with the strands, nothing is left in your fascia, and you do not need to be home.

Step 03: We store it until November

Everything is coiled and labelled by property at our shop, so nothing takes up space in your garage and the same set goes straight back up next season.

The January Window

When Cochrane Christmas light removal happens

On the second of January a display stops being festive and starts being a chore. That is the week the phone starts ringing, and it does not stop.

Bright West runs removal as a proper scheduled service, working a neighbourhood in one pass rather than driving back and forth across the region. The January routes follow the same ground the crews cover every autumn, from Christmas light installation in Cochrane through to Calgary Christmas light installation and the run. You do not need to be home for any of it.

  1. 01

    Early January, the routes start

We begin once the holiday is properly over and run through to early February. Every Bright West property is already on the schedule, so there is nothing to book.

  2. 02

    We confirm your window

You hear from us by phone or email before the crew arrives, so nobody wakes up to a ladder against the house. All we need is clear access to the driveway and the side gate.

  3. 03

Weather moves things, and we say so

A deep cold snap or a fresh dump of snow can push a day. Removing brittle strands at minus thirty is how clips snap and shingles tear, so we wait for a workable morning and tell you the new date.

  4. 04

Down, labelled, and gone by early February

Every display is off the house well before spring, which keeps clips out of a full summer of sun and weather, and keeps your roofline looking like a roofline again. Storage is included for Bright West customers.

Why Not DIY

Nobody should be on an icy ladder in January

Putting lights up in October is a pleasant autumn job. Taking them down in an Alberta January is another thing entirely, which is why takedown comes with every Bright West install.

  • Ice under the feet, snow on the roof

Ladder feet slide on frozen driveways, and a snow-loaded roofline hides every edge you would normally aim for.

  • Harnessed crews who do this daily

Our installers work at height all winter, in proper fall-arrest gear, on a roof surface they read for a living.

  • Insured and WCB covered

If something goes wrong on your property, it is our coverage that answers for it rather than your home insurance.
